Situation:  Someone asks for you opinion regarding a certain thing.

Action:  You give them your opinion, thinking it may spark a conversation or lead to an exchange of information.

Reaction:  The person who solicits the opinion then informs you that your opinion is wrong and cites evidence in support of theiropinion.

Result:  The questioner negates your opinion, reducing it to rubble.

Why ask someone a question that is so subjective, only to try to knock it down?  It’s very inconsiderate and rude to solicit personal/preferential information from someone and to then disregard it and, instead, try to supplant it with what you already had in your mind.

It’s like telling someone that their favorite color is wrong.

Next time don’t even bother asking, since the answer is already in your head anyway…
