  1. If you comment on a post that someone makes, it is expected to be directly related to that post.  It is not an opportunity to air dirty laundry, make an off-topic comment, or to promote something unrelated to the post.
  2. When you make a comment on someone else’s post you are, in essence, a guest.  Behave accordingly, or the host has the right to remove that comment.  This does not need to be justified.
  3. It is no one’s place to tell someone else what content they can/cannot put on their page.  Some people update their pages frequently with what’s going on in their lives.  Some do not.  If you don’t like how often someone updates, then don’t look.
  4. Children under 13 should not have Facebook accounts.  No exceptions.  It’s not only a Facebook policy, it’s only common sense.  If you’re under 13, go to Disney.
  5. If you see something you like in someone else’s stream SHARE it instead of posting it as your own.
  6. There is no such thing as the language police or the content police on Facebook.  Again, if you don’t like it, don’t look at it.
  7. Don’t post msgs like ur txting.  You look stupid.
  8. There are times to use CAPS LOCK, and it’s not all the time.
  9. Don’t expect everyone to read/respond to what you post, and be thankful for those who do.
  10. It is not your place to toot your horn on someone else’s wall.  That’s what your own wall is for.
  11. If you make a comment on someone’s wall and they delete it, it’s their business.  It’s not your place to question what type of comment/language somebody does/does not want on their own wall.

These are some of my observations from a few years being on Facebook.  You may not agree with them, or may have others to add.  Should you have any more to share, please pass them along.
