Jim!

This is a plaque that both Lance and I got for working at the Redford Relay for Life in Redford, MI.  We’ve received many plaques from ACS, but this one stands out above the rest for one simple reason.  The event was great, but even greater was meeting Ernie Harwell, former voice of the Detroit Tigers.  Our time on stage with this Baseball broadcasting legend was far too short, but he was kind enough to autograph the plaque.

It was a huge thrill to meet a man whose voice I’ve spent countless hours listening to.  His passing in 2010 makes this piece of memorabilia even more special.
