Starting Over Again…again.
on May 5th, 2011 at 1:11 amA couple months ago I decided it was time to leave my 2+ year webhost (www.justhost.com) because they failed miserably at Customer Service. Their reliability and service levels were great, but their customer service was severely lacking.
I had two issues with them:
- I have never seen a company so keen to fall back on their Terms and Conditions as these guys did. I would open a support ticket for a problem, or ask for something (like advance notification of an invoice coming up) and they would hide behind their Terms and Conditions like Robin Hood trying to hide from the Big Bad Wolf. They would also not step one millimeter outside of the parameters set forth in their Ts and Cs. That is no way to handle customers. A little “let me see what I can do for you” would go a long way toward keeping current customers intact instead of “As outlined in the Ts & Cs that you signed when you came on board…”. Yea?…well fuck you.
- A price increase of over 25%…yes, I said 25%. I would like to add that that price increase was not shared with their customer base. I happened to find it when I logged on to look at my account. An account that I previously paid $42 every 6 months was increased to $63.
…and, like I said, with absolutely no notification being sent to their customer base.
Once again they fell back on their Ts & Cs, yet when I questioned them about it they maintained that they had THE BEST products and services available at their price level. Bullshit. I was able to find 2 other web hosting companies with comparable service for less than their price increase. Yea, Fuck You again.
ANYWAY, since this is a lot longer than I had intended, I’m staring my website over. I’ll pick-and-chose which entries to bring over from my previous webhost and just keep on moving.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Your life is probably no better for taking the time to read it, but I do appreciate it.
Jim!
