I’ve been unemployed for a little over two weeks now. The real story is in a blog entry that will post next month, but suffice it to say that, due to the heroic efforts of a man I’ve despised for four years, I was released on June 2. What he doesn’t realize is that he did me a favor and didn’t hurt me at all, which is what I’m sure he was trying to do. It was, more than anything, LIBERATING.
*snap* Sorry to disappoint you!
Funny that it took them the better part of two weeks to remove my access to all the vendor websites that I’d visit frequently.
In a way I’m very relieved, since I had no authority at all and my hands were tied to accomplish the slightest thing.
An old boss of mine has offered to give me some work, which is good. While I’m in no immediate rush to get back to the 8 to 5, I still must have the income, so I’ll do that while I’m getting unemployment and looking for a full-time gig. In the meantime I’m rather surprised that I can get done. One of the biggest things is not having to get up at 5:30 in the morning, but it’s also spending more time with my wife and our Sheltie, Dante.
I can get things done around the house. I can work on things like my various websites, my radio station, and getting my unemployment going. I can look, also, into finding work.
We are seriously considering moving out of state. Next week we’ll talk to our Realtor (pronounce REAL-TORE, not REAL-A-TORE, like so many uneducated fucks do) about putting the house on the market. If she thinks we have a good chance at selling it we’ll put it up and I’ll start looking out of state. We won’t get to see the kids as often, but there is absolutely no reason, other than that, to stay in such a…depressing state.
Ok, I’m babbling. Have a great (insert whatever time of day it is that you are reading this)!
