Ok, so we were visit by our realtor the other day and decided that the time was right to put the house on the market. Whether it sells or not is another thing, but we’re going to try again.
For the longest time we said that when we didn’t have any more kids at home we’d move to a better climate. Not to Florida, like senior citizens, but somewhere the has more warm and less winter. We’ve bandied about Las Vegas, the D.C. area, and recently started considering Indiana. I’ve been contacted about possible work in Arizona, St. Louis Misery, and North Carolina.
If we can sell it, and if I can get work, we’ll be moving away. It’s a great chance to refresh, start over, and go somewhere new.
Wish us luck…and if you’re looking for a house in downtown Holly, lemme know!

There’s an old adage that says “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”. It was drilled into my head as a child and teenager. Not to mention that it’s never, ever cool to criticize something that’s based on a personal preference, i.e. tattoos, piercings, hairstyles, clothing, music, etc.
For example, I recently posted a photo of my new tattoo on my Facebook page. Most of the comments regarding the image were complimentary, as Tami Jo did an absolutely fantastic job of replicating the source image that I gave her.

It was ten years ago today that my mom passed away.

My Mom
Since I find it hard to say anything I shall simply post what I wrote on a very early version of my website about 9 years ago.
Another sadness that has struck my family is that on June 2, 1999, 14 days from what would have been her 55th birthday, my Mother died. This was a tremendous, sudden blow to our Family, and a change that I’ll never be able to fully get over. She was different than most mothers, and was more than just a mother, but a friend to many, many people, especially to me. There are things that happen to me daily that remind me of her and that I would love to bring to her attention, but forever, now, they will live inside of me, waiting for the day when I can see her again. Now, over a year after her death, I still find myself thinking about her every day. It hasn’t really gotten any easier, and my heart hurts when I think of her.
I Miss You, Mom.
On Saturday, April 18 my wife and I booked passage on the Star Trek Cruise!

Star Trek Cruise
On October 11 we’ll be flying from Flint, MI to Los Angeles and then taking a shuttle to the dock where we will depart on a seven-day voyage on board the Mariner of the Seas. We debated on this for quite a while, but decided that 1) we’ve always wanted to go on a cruise and b) This would be a great First Cruise to go on. Since we’re both big Star Trek fans we couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
On board the cruise will be Star Trek actors Garret Wang, Marina Sirtis, Chase Masterson (YOWZA!), Tim Russ, and Alan Ruck (“when Cameron was in Egypt’s land”…).
The countdown for the cruise in on the upper left corner of this page…and it’s moving much too slowly…

Few thing make me as happy as watching my wife play with our puppy, Dante.

Dante & Laurie
Bruce Ferris (My dad’s cousin, so my ??) recently sent a scan of a newspaper clipping that featured that Park Theater baseball team. Two of the members of the team are Ferrises. My grandfather, Carroll Ferris (bottom row, center) and his brother (exactly what would he be to me?) Lawrence David Ferris (bottom row, sixth person).
Since my dad’s family is from West Virginia I’ll assume this was in WV. I don’t know much about this and our best-guess is that this article is from the late 1930s.
